You don’t even have to ask! Check out some of our MPIRO Podcast seasons, where you can hear about the experiences of previous applicants.

Additional Resources

'Grad Australia' is a nifty site dedicated to advertising a whopping number of graduate programs.

With humble beginnings, Grad Australia was started by 3 graduate students from Adelaide (who knew first-hand how tiresome the hunt can be).

This site is a must for frequent application updates, critical reviews, upskilling workshops, internship and entry-level opportunities.

Get signed up now by filling out their targeted search form, making sure to update you on programs that suit you.

Beginning in 2008, 'Grad Connection' is an exceptionally integrated platform that draws some of the most unique and popular graduate opportunities the internet can source.

It shares its resources with the job searching site 'Seek', ensuring that there is no stone left unturned in finding the best opportunities for graduates.

You can research the companies on the site, talk to other graduates in the forums, and be found by employers viewing your GradConnection student profile.

The search for graduate jobs and opportunities is a little different for international students. Much will be dependent on the Visa type you hold.

To make sure you meet the requirements for upgrading or changing your visa type after you graduate, go through the Study Melbourne website for brief details.

If you're looking for more direct information, why not speak to a representative directly? The Study Melbourne office is open for students to come in and chat with the team on any issues relating to your studies or for remaining in Australia after you graduate.

Find their website here.

Find their office:

Study Melbourne Student Centre

17 Hardware Lane, Melbourne

M-F: 9am-5pm (Excluding Public Holidays)

If you're looking to build up that work experience before applying for graduate programs, but don't have a regular gig to pad that resume? Make sure to regularly check in with the UniMelb Careers Online jobs notice board.

Posts come and go quite frequently, and importantly they are sourced from both within and external to the university. All you need is your Unimelb login details and hey presto! You're in!

Head to the Careers Online board here

It's important to have the fundamentals achieved, for sure. But it's another thing to accept the need for further refinement. UniMelb EmployMe offers students the one-stop-shop database for all things 'employability' related, ranging from skills testing (yes, that includes dreaded psychometric testing exercises) to job application tools to search engine tips and tricks.

There's a ti-bit for every knowledge gap, so don't be shy! Be aware of your pitfalls and your personal challenges, because the only way to improve is with practice.
