Resume Workshop

Are you applying for DFAT, Department of Defence or any other graduate job?
If you’ve been to our grad prep info sessions, now is the time to actually write your application. With applications open at the start of this month, we’re here to help you craft that perfect resume.

WHEN: Wednesday, 24th March
WHERE: Seven Seeds Coffee Roasters
TIME: 11.30am – 1.00om AEDT
The MPIRO Resume Workshop event is an opportunity that you don’t want to miss out! We’re inviting MPIRO Members to this exclusive event that gives tips and hints on how to write a resume and improve your application for your dream job.

To make the workshop worth it, we’ve invited Melbourne University alumni Ben Sladin and Annie Jiang. Ben currently works at the Department of Health and Human Services while Annie carries experience as a previous intern at DFAT’s mission to the United Nations.

  • Ben and Annie will share tips on how they craft a successful resume and offer their time to overlook and workshop your resume.
  • The workshop will be held from 11:30 am at the Seven Seeds Cafe in 114 Berkeley St, Carlton. We begin with a brief presentation to get to know our UoM Alumni who will give advice on how to successfully write a resume.
  • Following this, we’ll organise a queue for you to chat to our alumni and have your resume workshopped. So it is highly recommended to bring along the first draft of your resume (as pitiful as it may be…)
  • While you wait, treat yourselves to a cup of coffee and meet your fellow MPIRO members!
The event is free, but you must be registered as an MPIRO member to attend (Full or Associate Member). If you haven’t officially signed up with us yet, you have the opportunity to sign up as you register for a ticket. If you are unsure about which membership is for you, criteria for each type is provided on the tickets.

Due to time and venue capacity limits – we have a limit of 30 participants for this event. Registration closes at 12PM on Wednesday the 23rd so register before then to secure your spot!

Not in Melbourne? We’re sad you won’t be able to join us at this offline event. But this doesn’t mean you can’t get involved other career events! Stay updated with us to know the coming career events!
