Who can vote in the AGM?
Only FULL MPIRO members are eligible to vote in the AGM. For FULL MPIRO membership eligibility, see our Memberships page.
How does the AGM work?
At an AGM, the 2024-25 committee will run through key highlights of the year, such as finances, events and projects.
Next, attendees and eligible voters will review the current nominees for the 2025-26 committee and vote accordingly. Once all the votes are in, the 2024-25 committee will review to ensure all votes are counted. After which, the new committee is announced and an official handover will occur (where applicable).
Where can I see the current list of nominees?
A list of nominees and their pitches will be made public a week prior to the AGM. Keep your eyes on this space!
I'm graduating mid semester of 2026, can I still apply?
Ideally for executive positions, these will be filled by MIR students enrolled for the entirety of 2026 however there is no restriction on this. Students graduating mid 2026 are encouraged to apply for a general committee position.
Do I need any relevant experience?
Nope! Joining the MPIRO committee gives you the opportunity to explore and develop new skills. The Graduate Student Association has training modules available if you’re successful, and the outgoing/remaining committee are more than happy to support your learning development.
